The Campus of OAMC

Publication of The Campus of OAMC is made possible thanks to support from Joe Garner.

The Campus of OAMC gives readers a look back in time at Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, before its name was changed to Oklahoma State University.

"The book deals exclusively with the OAMC years," said David Peters, Coordinator of Library Special Collections and the book’s author. "It will highlight the initial formation of the college until its transformation into a university."

The Campus of OAMC is primarily pictorial, showcasing photos from the OSU Library’s Special Collections. It also uses detailed maps and building blueprints from the 1890s through 1957 to highlight the changes in campus over time.

This project is made possible thanks to the support of Friends of the OSU Library Board Member, Joe Garner. Joe is in the group of alumni who have connections to both OAMC and OSU. He graduated from OAMC in 1956 with a BS in secondary education. He then earned an MS in secondary education from OSU in 1957.

The Campus of OAMC was released in January 2008. It can be ordered directly from the publisher at newforums.com. The initial run of hardcopies are nearly sold out!
